The Cat A refurbishment at 40 Torphichen Street reimagined the building’s arrival and common areas, enhancing its appeal and responding to the evolving needs of modern occupiers.

The reception was transformed into a welcoming, contemporary space that creates a strong first impression while offering more than a traditional entrance. Informal meeting, waiting and touchdown areas provide flexible places for occupiers and visitors to connect, work or pause throughout the day. The WC cores were also comprehensively upgraded, ensuring a consistently high-quality experience across the building’s shared facilities.

A warm, refined material palette brings character and cohesion to the interior. Sculptural timber ceiling features and integrated linear lighting emphasise the height of the reception, while soft furnishings and planting introduce warmth and comfort.

A new brand identity was developed for the building and applied throughout its signage, wayfinding and interior details. A digital tenant directory supports navigation and promotes building news and events, helping to encourage engagement and strengthen the occupier community.

The completed refurbishment gives 40 Torphichen Street a distinctive identity and a more engaging occupier experience, repositioning its shared spaces as a valuable extension of the workplace.
