The interior fit-out of D R Newitt’s Edinburgh city-centre office created a confident, people-focused workplace designed around the fast-paced and highly collaborative nature of specialist recruitment.
At the heart of the design, the arrival area was conceived as a café-culture social space rather than a conventional reception. A curved timber counter creates a focal point for refreshments, informal meetings and spontaneous interaction, with counter seating supporting use throughout the day. Overhead planting forms a biophilic canopy, while warm timber, exposed brickwork and black-framed glazing establish a relaxed, welcoming character.
The wider layout responds directly to the way recruitment teams operate. Open-plan areas support communication and shared momentum, while meeting rooms, private spaces and quieter settings provide acoustic separation for confidential conversations, interviews and focused tasks. Integrated technology enables efficient communication, while flexible planning allows the office to adapt to changing team structures and future requirements.
Branding, colour and considered finishes bring further energy and personality, creating an environment that feels equally welcoming to employees, candidates and clients.
The completed fit-out provides D R Newitt with a distinctive, practical workplace that reinforces its culture, supports its people and creates the right environment for building relationships, sharing knowledge and connecting talent with opportunity.
